For the last decade Sam Childers has been traveling to Sudan and Uganda in eastern Africa to bring relief
to people in the crisis-laden area. A former bike gang member and hardened criminal, Sam's heart broke on his
first trip to Sudan when he witnessed the unrelenting horrors of the war waged on the people there by the LRA
(Lord's Resistance Army). Sam knew he had to take action, so with nothing more than his faith, a mosquito net
hanging from a tree and an AK-47, he began rescuing children and built an orphanage known as Children's Village
to give them a safe space.
The staff at the children's village cares for nearly 300 children on the property daily. The orphanage is guarded
around the clock by soldiers who will defend the children should the need arise. The Children's Village is the only
NGO (non-government organization) that does not pick up and leave when fighting breaks out in the area.
Childers is touring the nation with a motorcycle that was constructed by Jesse James's West Coast Choppers that he
will be raffling off to raise money to help Children's Village buy a much-needed airplane Join us to hear his
incredible story.
