Human Trafficking, Healthcare and Underserved Populations in LA County
with Dr. Susie Baldwin, MD MPH

Please join us for a discussion with Dr. Susie Baldwin, a local public health physician and advocate. Dr. Baldwin has combined her passion for medicine with advocating for underserved populations, universal healthcare, women's reproductive rights, and victims of human trafficking. She will share her experiences and discuss how these important healthcare issues manifest themselves in LA county.

Dr. Susie Baldwin is a board certified Preventive Medicine/Public Health physician whose career has focused on women's health and reproductive health. Dr. Baldwin is Health Assessment Unit Chief in the Office of Health Assessment and Epidemiology at the LA County Department of Public Health. In this capacity, she oversees the LA County Health Survey, which provides data to inform program planning, research, advocacy, and policy throughout LA County.

Dr. Baldwin also served as a volunteer physician for survivors of human trafficking at the Saban Free Clinic, partnering with the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking. She is Medical Director for Clinical and Community Programs at the California Family Health Council, which administers California's Title X family planning programs, and is a member of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America National Medical Committee. Dr. Baldwin has performed research on cervical cancer prevention and HPV in women and men, on access to emergency contraception in California, and on the health effects of human trafficking.
